Lighting Innovations international stage lighting doyen Hermann Sorger previews a range of innovations to be shown at MEET 2006.
SUPER BEAM 600/800
Following the great success of SUPER BEAM 1200 low voltage beamlight, which set new standards for lighting very big stages, Lighting Innovation developed the SUPER BEAM 600/800 using the same innovative double reflector optics. "We were asked by many lighting designers for the same intensely bright light to be used from the proscenium area and from side lighting positions", comments Sorger, "So, we designed this brilliant lower wattage version."
- compact design with minimal dimensions
- very high efficiency
- 600W or 800W halogen lamp, as required
- 230V lamp, eliminating the need for a heavy and expensive transformer
"The lamp filaments are remarkably compact, and used with the innovative reflector optics, they can achieve light angles of between 3° and 12°.", says Hermann. "The lamp life is also very good at 400 hours."
Lighting Innovation supplied 12 "Inno FourTM Outdoor" projectors to the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Seefestspiele, the world's greatest operetta festival, on one of the most beautiful open-air stages (for 6500 visitors) in Europe.
The appropriate setting is given by the picturesque town of Mörbisch and the impressive natural scenery of the Neusiedler See, sixty kilometres outside Vienna.
The luminaires provided spectacular colour projections across the whole outside façade of the arena.

Technical information for the Inno FourTM Outdoor projector:
This new development by Lighting Innovation uses a HMI 575W/60 Osram HSD light bulb, with a rated life of 3000 hours and colour temperature of 6000ºK. Ballast and ignitor are built in the specially designed impact resistant fibreglass housing. The projector housing also incorporates a vent to prohibit the formation of condensation.
A tangential fan reduces the colour glass gobo temperature, while the optics is based on ETC's Source Four 25-50º Zoom. The Inno FourTM Outdoor power efficiency is also remarkable considering the remarkably bright light output requiring only a 4 Ampere supply at 230V.
Total weight for the unit is 32kg.
"Lighting Innovation" products are used on the broadway too. As an extremely strong contralight (see stage-picture - made by Thomas Hase) realized with our Super Beam 1200W 80V.
Name of the production "Company on Broadway"

Super Beam 1200 was set already in many successful productions for example:
"Romeo & Julia" in the Raimundtheatre
at the world premiere of "Rebecca" in the Raimundtheatre in September 2006
and in many open air productions like festival Mörbisch.

Lighting Innovation's MotorYoke is going from strength to strength. Since the very first MotorYokes were installed in the auditorium of Vienna's Volkstheater in the summer of 1999, the upgraded MotorYoke 2 has become one of the most used precision pan and tilt yokes for larger luminaires weighing up to 40 kg (90 lb).
The advantages of the MotorYoke include its simple and robust construction, compact dimensions and the precise repeatability, as well as the low weight.
Theatres in countries as diverse as Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, Finland, Russian, Japan and in the USA have recently chosen to invest in the MotorYoke. The famous Mchat Theatre in Moscow ordered a number of MotorYokes to replace its existing remote control installation. A variety of luminaires will be carried, including 2kW Fresnels, 5kW ARRI Fresnels, Inno Four 575 HMI/MSR PARNel with motor focus 25°-45° and Inno Four 575 HMI/MSR 15°-30° with motorised zoom.
